A chemical class of colorants characterized by the quinoline structure derived from quinaldine.
A bright greenish-yellow, water-soluble synthetic dye. It has excellent heat and light stability. In the USA, only FDA certified batches are allowed for use in drugs and cosmetics and are known as “D&C Yellow #10.” The FDA and the EU and WHO specifications differ in regards to the amount of monosulfonated form present in the dye.
