Quinoline
A chemical class of colorants characterized by the quinoline structure derived from quinaldine.
Quinoline Yellow
A bright greenish-yellow, water-soluble synthetic dye. It has excellent heat and light stability. In Brazil, it is permitted for use in several food categories. In the USA, only FDA certified batches are allowed for use in drugs and cosmetics and are known as “D&C Yellow #10”. The FDA and the EU and WHO specifications differ in regards to the amount of monosulfonated present in the dye. No individual batch can meet both the FDA and EU specifications.
